NCsoft will not can troubled sci-fi MMO Tabula Rasa despite reports that the publisher’s European development arm has been shut down.

Earlier today trade magazine Develop reported that up to 50 jobs are at risk at the Brighton-based studio and that the unannounced MMO, possibly one of NCsoft’s PS3 exclusive online games, had been canned.

This morning Gamesindustry.biz reported that Tabula Rasa will be ‘discontinued at some point in the coming months due to continuing poor subscriber numbers’.

However, in the last hour a NCsoft senior QA tester called Ziggidy Zaggidy posted on planettr.com to say that ‘there are no current plans to can TR’.

The post ends with the defiant claim: “Long Live TR.”

We’ve yet to receive official comment from NCsoft’s European arm on the subject, but an official statement is expected soon.
