Naughty Dog hopes to get The Last of Us: Remastered running at native 1080p/60fps, creative director Neil Druckmann has confirmed.

Questions over the next-gen’s version performance soon emerged after Naughty Dog chose not to disclose the frame rate during the game’s official announcement. PlayStation Blog DE also stated that the game would run at 1080p and 60fps, but later removed the reference to the frame rate.

But in a tweet posted last night, Druckmann stated: “For those asking, @Naughty_Dog is developing The Last of Us Remastered and we’re targeting 60fps. More info to come.”

The PS4 version also appears to have been in development for almost a year, with Naughty Dog co-president Evan Wells telling PlayStation Access that work on the next-gen version started “pretty much as soon as we finished with PlayStation 3”.

“We weren’t sure whether it was going to go anywhere,” he said, “but when we saw the fans clamouring for it we doubled down and put more effort behind it.”

He continued: “The graphical fidelity has been turned up to 11, we’ve got 1080p, we’re pushing the draw distances further, we’re creating higher resolution character models, better lighting, better shadows…”

It’ll also include every major piece of DLC, including two multiplayer map packs and single-player add-on Left Behind.
