Naughty Dog’s released a couple of short comparison clips for the PlayStation 5 remaster of The Last of Us Part I.

The pair of clips are short, but sweet and show off two sections of the game. The first gives us a glimpse at the adventure’s famous opening sequence, where Joel and his brother are driving his daughter to safety.

The second, taken from a little later in the game, includes Joel and Tommy on their horseback ride, in search of a missing Ellie. Check them out, with the option of 4K, via the players below.

The footage gives us a good grasp of just how things have improved visually in the upcoming remaster. More than just updating the textures, the remaster will take full advantage of the newer hardware. That includes denser physics, improved character models and much more.

These Last of Us Part I comparison clips come not far behind an eleven minute showcase video last month. There, we also learned the PlayStation 5 version will include DualSense features too, and include full 3D audio.

However, The Last of Us Part I’s reveal so far has been fairly plagued with leaks. Given it’s a remaster of such a recent game, many fans have been worried about spoilers. Our Josh had a rumination on that very topic that you can read over here.

The Last of Us Part I is set to arrive on PlayStation 5 on September 2, 2022. A version for the PC is to follow soon after.
