Bandai Namco announced that My Hero One’s Justice 2 will be released for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC in 2020 (via Gematsu).
The My Hero One’s Justice games are based on the manga and anime series, My Hero Academia. You’ve probably heard of it, but if not, I’ll summarise quickly. Izuku Midoriya is the protagonist, born without superpowers in a world where they’re as frequent as freckles. When he is the only one to try and rescue a bully from a villain, Japan’s greatest superhero All Might realises Midoriya’s potential.
All Might shares his superpowers with the young boy, and transfers him to a school for superheroes. The story follows the cast of characters contending with normal school responsibilities and the ominous presence of the League of Villains, which is an evil organisation formed by All Might's nemesis, All For One.
To be honest, I haven’t watched My Hero Academia but I might have convinced myself there. My Hero One’s Justice released for PC and consoles earlier this year, as a 3D arena fighter riffing off the early arcs of the anime. Its newly announced sequel claims to be much bigger in scale, and boasts a ‘huge roster’ of heroes and villains from My Hero Academia. And, it will be playable at New York Comic Con later this week.
