Capcom has said it will be hosting four-on-four Lost Planet multiplayer battles on its stand at the Games Convention in Leipzig next month. The final game is expected to include a smorgasbord of multiplayer modes, with the development team aiming to achieve online play for up to 32 players.
Speaking at E3, the games creator Keiji Inafune outlined some of the game modes the team is hoping to include. These included the usual team and solo Deathmatch, but also a territorial mode. Players can also expect a lot of jumping in and out of mechs, plus the ability to rip weapons from mechs, all adding to the online experience.
Hiroshi Tobisawa, President of Capcom Europe, commented: “Over 400,000 Xbox 360 owners have already downloaded the single player demo from Marketplace showing that Lost Planet is already a highly anticipated title. The multiplayer mode shows Capcom’s commitment to take full advantage of the Xbox Live service and deliver an absorbing multiplayer experience to its three million subscribers.“
Lost Planet is scheduled for release on the Xbox 360 in late 2006 or early 2007.
