It turns out Microsoft won’t be banning Xbox 360 users from Xbox LIVE for playing Halo 3: ODST early after all.
Following news that certain gamers in France had managed to buy a legitimate version of Halo 3: ODST from retail stores, news emerged that Microsoft would inflict an Xbox LIVE ban on anyone who played the game before its official release date.
That’s not exactly true though. Xbox LIVE chief Stephen Toulouse has posted a Twitter update which states: “we will not be banning legitimate customers from Xbox LIVE who play early.”
This means that you’re good to connect to LIVE providing you have a legitimate version of the game. Those who try to play a copied version will face being banned from LIVE.
