Sony will release MotorStorm: Apocalypse in the UK on Thursday, March 31, MCV has revealed.
The game had originally been set for a March 18 release, but events in Japan led to Sony postponing the launch.
“We are very conscious of the parallels between these events and the underlying theme in Motorstorm and are doing everything we can to be as sensitive as possible to the situation,” explained a SCEE spokesperson at the time. “Although the game itself is already in distribution, we are ceasing any further shipments and removing as much of the marketing materials as possible.”
The new release date puts Sony’s racer up against EA’s Shift II: Unleashed, THQ’s WWE All Stars and Tiger Woods PGA Tour 12. Going up against another racer is far from ideal, and the PS3 exclusive is likely to eat into PS3 sales of Shift II.
