THQ and Climax have announced the new online features for MotoGP Ultimate Racing Technology 3. The new game will blur the lines between online and offline gameplay, going one step further than the already excellent online implementation found in Climax’s previous title.
MotoGP URT 3 will use enhanced matchmaking features to entice everyone to play online. When setting up a game against AI opponents, the game will search for similar online games that are taking place and give players the option to join one of the matching games. The hope is that people that usually don’t partake in online play will be encouraged to do so and make the online community for the game stronger.
“MotoGP: Ultimate Racing Technology 3 is an amazing, adrenaline-charged racer that leaves every other game trailing in its slipstream with the way it handles multiplayer gaming” stated THQ’s Senior Vice President of European Publishing, Ian Curran. “Working closely with developer Climax, we have created an amazing feature that allows gamers to switch seamlessly between single and multiplayer action. This will draw even more fans to this already hugely successful racing series.”

Race fans, even those previously intimidated by the complex processes of playing online, will be able to race against similarly-skilled drivers without having to do anything more than click a single button. It’s that easy!”
Expect to hear more on the game as its summer release date approaches. MotoGP 3 Ultimate Racing Technology will be released for both Xbox and PC.
