Disney Interactive has announced the development of Pure, an all-new extreme off-road racing title from Black Rock Studio – formerly Climax, creators of the Moto GP and ATV Offroad Fury franchise.

Pure is said to take off-road quad racing to a new level, featuring massive jumps, spectacular airborne tricks and photo-realistic visuals.

“We expect Pure to set a new standard for off-road racing that delivers adrenaline-inducing vertical experiences with spectacular aerial tricks and intense wheel-to-wheel racing,” said Craig Relyea, senior vice president of global marketing, Disney Interactive Studios.

Players will choose from a variety of male and female characters and then race against AI or go online and compete in races and freestyle competitions featuring up to 16 players.

Black Rock is being advised throughout development by Wes Miller, a pro rider and founder of H-Bomb Films. Miller’s involvement with the game’s development has ensured it adheres to quad culture and authenticity, but at the same time has allowed for some creativity.

Pure is in development for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC and is scheduled for release in autumn 2008.
