Ubisoft’s Wii exclusive first-person action game Red Steel 2 will only work when a Wii MotionPlus accessory is plugged into a Wii Remote, so it’s pretty handy that the game will come bundled with Nintendo’s latest add-on.

“When we received advance prototype versions of the Wii MotionPlus, and took some time to see what it could do, we realized that it was the solution we had needed to make the new style of gameplay, we had been experimenting with, work,” said Jason Vandenberghe, Creative Director on the game. “It’s an integral part of the game, and therefore Red Steel 2 is Wii MotionPlus exclusive.”

So what does Wii MotionPlus mean for the game? According to Vandenberghe it provides “1:1 recognition of your movements”, it “measures the power of your swing”, and “allows us to measure your movements even when you’re not pointing at the screen”. Sounds pretty impressive.

Red Steel 2 will be released exclusively for the Wii this holiday.
