Speaking to GameSpot, a Midway rep has said that the final current-gen game in the Mortal Kombat series is also coming to the Wii. Don’t expect to find the game on store shelves this winter along with the PlayStation 2 and Xbox versions though – the Wii version isn’t scheduled to ship until Q1 2007.
Midway had already announced support for the Wii, with versions of The Ant Bully and Happy Feet, but Mortal Kombat Armageddon is the publisher’s first release aimed at the older gamer. While Wii fans might not be overly excited about the news of another current-gen port, sales of the title could well determine if future Mortal Kombat games are released for the system.
