Nintendo’s Friday tradition of expanding on the Virtual Console line-up continues this week with the latest titles to be revealed for the download service.
Three of the SEGA Mega Drive’s big names return, with platformers Alex Kidd in the Enchanted Castle and Wonder Boy in Monster World, and beat-’em-up Virtua Fighter 2. While the Alex Kidd and Wonder Boy titles were very enjoyable games when they launched, many consider the Mega Drive version of Virtua Fighter 2 to be one of the worst titles in seminal fighting series.
The final game announced was Shockman, which debuted on the TurboGrafx. The scrolling platform game is similar to the 2D Mega Man releases and, though never a classic, Shockman remains popular with those who remember its ill-fated parent console.
The Mega Drive offerings will each cost you 800 Wii Points, while Shockman on TurboGrafx will only set you back 600 Wii Points.
