Kotaku’s got hold of scans from the latest issue of Game Informer magazine, revealing additional functionality and the first mention of confirmed tracks.
In addition to the previously revealed turntable controller, a clip-on component will feature a cross-fader, effects dial, “Euphoria” button and all the required d-pad and control pad buttons. Perhaps more interesting is details on how the game will actually work. Much like Guitar Hero, notes will move down the screen, only here there are only three. The challenge comes from needing to have the cross-fader in the right position. There’ll also be scratching sections, with small arrows indicating which way to rotate the turntable.
The article also lists a selection of tracks confirmed to appear in the game.
“Feel Good Inc.” (Gorillaz) vs “I Heard It Through the Grapevine” (Marvin Gaye)
“Jayou” (Jurassic 5) vs “Rockit” (Herbie Hancock)
“Bustin’ Loose” (Chuck Brown) vs “Time of the Season” (The Zombies, DJ Shadow Mix)
“All Apologies” (Nirvana) vs “Give It to Me Baby” (Rick James, DJ Shadow Mix)
“Let’s Dance” (David Bowie) vs “Jack of Spades” (KRS One, DJ Shadow Mix)
“Shout” (Tears for Fears) vs “Pjanoo” (Eric Prydz)
DJ Hero is scheduled for release in the autumn.
