Speaking to GamesIndustry.biz at E3 earlier this month, Peter Molyneux, creative director for Microsoft Game Studios Europe, revealed that one thing he hopes to achieve in his new role within Microsoft is to help Microsoft’s Rare studio develop more of an identity.

“I was totally blown away from the amount of talent that there is at Rare, but it’s just that they come from a background where Nintendo required them to be this very, very secretive company,” said Molyneux. “I just want to give them the confidence to tell the world what they’re doing. I hope you’re going to see more from Rare and I want to help them get well known.”

This doesn’t mean Rare as a development studio will change its style, with Molyneux adding that fans will “still recognise a Rare game”.
