Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered’s multiplayer servers unofficially went live overnight, allowing some pre-order players to jump into the game’s online multiplayer ahead of its release this Friday.

The multiplayer option isn’t supposed to unlock until November 4, but the slip-up has somehow given access to PS4 pre-order players ahead of time, with over 100,000 players already on the game’s multiplayer leaderboard.

To give it a go, players are reporting that you need to join a Call of Duty PSN Community, head to the ‘Now Playing’ tab and join a session in progress. It isn’t guaranteed to work, though: I’ve just tried it and it fails to connect each time.

The method does, however, take me into Modern Warfare Remastered’s multiplayer menu, offering an early look at the Barracks, Prestige Emblems, Calling Cards and more. If you have early access and want to check out the multiplayer unlockables ahead of time, there’s nothing to stop you from giving it a go yourself.

Modern Warfare Remastered launches on PS4, Xbox One and PC this Friday, November 4. To play it, you’ll need to purchase Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare’s Legacy or Legacy Pro Edition.
