Infinity Ward’s Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 has benefited from fan feedback on Call of Duty: Black Ops and the good things Treyarch has done with its hit game.
Speaking about the relationship between Call of Duty studios Treyarch and Infinity Ward, Infinity Ward creative strategist Robert Bowling told MCV Pacific that there is a “friendly competition” between the pair.
He said that despite the Modern Warfare style being “very different” to Black Ops’, this year’s game has benefited from Treyarch’s shooter.
“The cool thing is that when we take from the franchise, we take from it as a whole,” said Bowling. “So while Infinity Ward are currently building off the style of Modern Warfare, we’re listening to what people love about Black Ops as well, and what they wanted to see added, and we’re paying close attention to what Treyarch have done really well, and we’re bringing that to the Modern Warfare franchise.”
Modern Warfare 3 launches November 8, just 10 days after the EA produced rival Battlefield 3.
