Activision CEO Eric Hershberg has expressed his wariness over mobile gaming focus. Talking to the New York Times, Hershberg publicly questioned the relevance of iOS and mobile gaming, whilst affirming that Activision is primarily a core games studio.

“There are 400,000 apps in the iTunes app store, I don’t want to be number 400,001,” he told Develop. “What we’re trying to do is use new technologies and new devices in gaming to strengthen our core business. We don’t just want to go and spread our roulette chips around the table.”

He did however suggest that the Call of Duty Elite service was an example of the more likely cross-platform process Activision would look into.
