Retro-themed adventurer Minit has been buffed with a new Speedrun setting, publisher Devolver Digital has announced.
The new mode adds a bunch of new on-screen info, including a timer that tracks how long you've been tucking into the game, as well as support for any type of percentage speedruns through to 110% for grabbing absolutely everything on offer.
Given that Minit is a game that is based around the very concept of time – your character can only live for 60 seconds before respawning, after all – this new option makes perfect sense.
Elsewhere, the game's creators are hosting a Minit Community Challenge, where players are given the chance to beat the current speedrun world record for Minit. The current record is 7 minutes and 48 seconds for Any % Normal. The challenge will run October 4 – November 4, with two categories available: Any % Normal and 110% Fewest Runs.
Minit was released back in April on PlayStation 4, PC, and Xbox One, and arrived on Switch in August.
Minit gets a new speedrun setting today along with a speedrun community event!
