The Switch version of Minecraft has gained fresh content in the shape of skins based on Microsoft heavyweight franchises Halo and Fable.

Skin Pack 1 is available to grab now for both Switch and Wii U, although the clobber has been available for Xbox console owners for years now. Regardless, this means that you can now dress up as the likes of Master Chief on your Switch as well as Banjo Kazooie and other characters.

Yet again it’s another example of how Microsoft and Ninty are embracing cross-platform play for the multi-million selling behemoth, which last month notched up a record player count. Alas, it doesn’t look like we’ll be seeing the likes of Nathan Drake or Kratos joining in the fun anytime soon; not unless Sony changes its mind on the whole cross-platform topic.

Oddly enough, the game’s developer has seen fit to launch the Moana Pack for the Xbox Edition of Minecraft, a game that has now been phased out in favour of the cross-platform version.

Still, if you’re wondering what all the fuss is about, you can get an idea of the whole Minecraft craze by digesting our review of the Xbox 360 Edition here
