Midway has said a Wii version of Rampage: Total Destruction will arrive on Nintendo’s new console this winter. It won’t be a straight port either – we’re promised improved graphics, and ten new creatures not found in previous versions of the game. There’ll be seven city backdrops which the player must destroy in order to free other monsters – the concept it pretty basic.

There’s no information on whether or not the game will take advantage of the Wii’s remote control, but it will be a surprise if the title doesn’t include some form of stick waving mechanic. This is the second current-gen port that Midway has announced for the Wii in as many days. While Wii fans might well appreciate a few extra games for the system, this certainly isn’t something that will help convince people who are undecided over the console.
