It seems that every publisher wants to have a street racer these days. Attempting to steal some of the limelight from the hugely-successful EA Need For Speed: Underground franchise (which has grabbed the Christmas number one for the last two years), Rockstar today launched the website for the third iteration of its Midnight Club series.

In association with DUB Magazine (an American car lifestyle publication), Midnight Club 3: DUB Edition features a first for the series, in that it will feature licensed cars for the very first time. As shown the way by EA, however, MC3:DE will also feature customisation of the vehicles by the bus-load. Expect to be able to change both the insides and out of vehicles from respected makers such as Chevy, Dodge, Mercedes, VW and more. Not only that, but you can then take to the streets and race against seven strangers with online play, which is supported on both Playstation 2 and Xbox.

Whilst no actual game information is currently revealed, head to the official website for some additional screenshots and a couple of trailers.
