The UK release of Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor has been brought forward to October 3, Warner Bros. has announced. The game had previously been scheduled to launch one week later on October 10.
The revised release date means that Shadow of Mordor will now get the jump on Alien: Isolation, DriveClub and Skylanders: Trap Team, which it had been due to launch alongside the following week.
It follows shortly after Bethesda decided to bring the release of The Evil Within forward by one week to October 14, presumably to avoid blockbusters Evolve and Battlefield Hardline. Hardline was later delayed to 2015.
Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor is due to release on Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4 and PC simultaneously.
