Microsoft has announced that the Xbox One controller and console have to be updated for the stereo headset adapter to work.
The adapter – which sent the internet into a frenzy late last year – allows users to connect headsets to the Xbox One controller, but will be rendered useless unless the latest system update has been downloaded to your machine.
