Microsoft recently announced profits of $10.82 billion in the quarter ending 31st December. Though this number was a total for sales figures, the Home and Entertainment division were keen to point out “our Xbox business fired on all cylinders,” as the console made it into the black for the first time since its release. With even the loss-making machine itself making money, this can only be a good thing for the American giant.

Along with the Xbox news, a number of less interesting financial figures were posted – sales profits were up seven percent over the same period next year, lots of other ‘billions’ (not that we’d know what they are…) are mentioned along with dollar-signs nearby and Microsoft are ridiculously rich. The usual then.

But as we all know, Bill Gates and his company can’t be that bad.
