Fans of first-person Metroid action may have something to look forward to, with Metroid producer Kensuke Tanabe revealing to ONM that the Prime series may well continue on the Nintendo DS.

The release of Metroid Prime 3: Corruption on Wii closed the GameCube/Wii trilogy, but Tanabe has revealed Nintendo is always planning new games.

“We are always planning to make new games in the Metroid Prime series. Depending on the timing and the situation, we cannot deny the possibility of realising it on DS or DSi,” said Tanabe.
