Late last year Nintendo of America President Reggie Files-Aime assured Wii owners that the console would not suffer the same post-launch game drought that plagued the GameCube.
One of the big games to ease this worry was Metroid Prime 3: Corruption, which had been promised as a 2007 release. Joystiq is now reporting that leading US retailer Best Buy has issued notices to its customers informing them that the release date for Metroid Prime 3 has moved to December 31, 2007.
This is far from confirmation, but still a little worrying for Wii owners. Corruption was in many people’s minds the next ‘AAA’ release from Nintendo for the Wii and a major delay would be a big blow. At the moment Nintendo hasn’t announced an official release date, so for the time being we’ll put this down to Best Buy simply being unsure about the date the game will hit stores.
