An interview with Retro Studios on the official Metroid site ‘Luminoth Temple’ has revealed the first snippets of information on Metroid’s outing on Nintendo’s Revolution.

A Retro Studios spokesperson said: “The plot of Prime 3 is about closure, told against the backdrop of an epic struggle,” suggesting this may be the last in the Metroid Prime series! The planet Phazon will once again be key and Samus will come up against all new enemies.

The game is said to take advantage of the much anticipated Revolution controller. “We plan on taking advantage of a number of new features in the Revolution, including the controller,” said the rep. Sadly the interview has given us no actual information on the secretive controller.

Visually the game is set to offer a great deal of improvements, but no specifics were given. “Our engineers are a very talented and dedicated bunch, and they’re constantly looking for ways to make our games run smoother with more details,” said the Retro rep. The composer Kenji Yamamoto will once again create the game’s soundtrack. The Retro Studios rep said: “We hope to take the music into some new directions for this title, and there’s no doubt Mr. Yamamoto is going to relish the challenge.”

With few details actually known of the Revolution, it may be some time before we get any hard information on Metroid Prime 3, which is rumoured to be a launch title for the console.
