Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater was a stonking game; I know this, you know this. Konami apparently does too, they’re attempting to sway people back into Metal Gear Survive next week with a new co-op event based on the 2004 stealth-action title.

The Encounter 1964 will launch on April 10 and runs for two weeks, introducing a range of iconic clobber from Hideo Kojima’s PlayStation 2 behemoth, such as the Crocodile Cap, Naked Snake’s camo fatigues, and Eva’s jumpsuit among others. In addition, you can also find a new cassette that details Snake Eater’s end-game boss, the Shagohod.

This is all part of Konami’s plan to keep Survive ticking over with new content, although whether it’ll actually work remains to be seen. Metal Gear Survive wasn’t actually all that bad, but it didn’t exactly set the world on fire either.

What’s next for Metal Gear Solid? Well, there’s apparently a movie still in the planning stages, although in terms of games nothing has been confirmed as of yet. However, despite Kojima no longer being involved with the series, we can’t see Konami keeping it on hiatus for much longer.
