A four day Metal Gear Survive beta is scheduled to take place from Thursday, January 18, until Sunday, January 21, Konami announced today. Although, PC players won’t be able to get in on the action as its only available to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One players.
In the beta you’ll be able to play three missions, with just as many players in the game’s online co-op mode, across two different maps. You’ll also guarantee yourself special items in the full game, when it’s released this February, just by participating.
Your save date won’t carry over to the full game, sadly, but PS4 players can take some solace in the fact they don’t need a PlayStation Plus subscription to get involved. Xbox One owners aren’t as fortunate, though, as you do need an Xbox Live Gold sub to play on Microsoft’s hardware.
So, if you’re in Japan, North America, Europe or Asia, you’ll be able to jump on in a fortnight and see what Metal Gear is like as it gears up to kick off its post-Hideo Kojima era.
Metal Gear Survive is out on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on February 22 in Europe, and February 20 in North America.
