The HD remake of Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 will allow four players to team up over Xbox LIVE and PlayStation Network. The PSP original required players to access online co-op via a PS3.

Metal Gear Solid creator Hideo Kojima revealed the online cooperative play news this morning through a Tweet and attached image.

“4 people can co-op and it is 60 frames,” confirmed the Tweet. “During loading, characters’ dialogues pop up at random.”

Split-screen co-op hasn’t been confirmed.

MGS Peace Walker will be released as part of the Metal Gear Solid HD Collection, which also includes HD versions of Metal Gear Solid 2 and 3. Ultimate fans could opt for the Ultimate HD Collection which adds both Metal Gear Solid 1 and Metal Gear Solid 4 for the sum of £70 – “could” because the Zavvi exclusive is now sold out.

The collection will be released in November.
