Metal Gear Online has launched in full on PC following a brief beta test last week.

The multiplayer mode can be downloaded and accessed by anyone who owns a PC copy of Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain, although it isn’t yet clear whether progress made during the beta can be carried over to the final game.

Players who complete at least one multiplayer match between now and next Tuesday, January 26, however, will be rewarded with an additional 3000 Gear Points, giving them a head start on unlocking new items for their character.

“The Beta has officially concluded and the game is now available for launch,” Kojima Productions LA community manager Robert Peeler wrote in an update on Steam. “We took in a lot of feedback and made a few key adjustments. After some initial hiccups we’re going forward guns at the ready. However that doesn’t mean we’ve stopped development, quite the contrary. Just like the previously released console versions of MGO, we’ll be integrating new updates to the game to improve the experience and add content.”

Quite what that content will be has yet to be announced, although Peeler promises an “exciting year” for Metal Gear Online.

“We’re excited to see a brand new burgeoning pvp community on PC with Metal Gear Online,” he continued. “It’s likewise thrilling to add another community of players to our upcoming MGO DLC and update plans. 2016 is shaping up to be an exciting year for MGO, and with your continued support we’ll take it even further!”

Konami confirmed plans to close Metal Gear Online’s developer Kojima Productions LA in November.
