Nintendo has today announced the February 8 release of Dr Kageyama’s Maths Training, a new Touch Generations title for Nintendo DS.

The basis of the title is 100 square calculation, a method conceived by Kageyama Hidea, a Japanese elementary school principle. The main exercise consists of 100 simple maths problems combined into a 10 by 10 grid which uses the numbers at the top and side of the grid. There are also many other exercises, including simple one digit problems and more complex three digit challenges.

The game is played using the DS held like a book with the answers written on the touch screen using the stylus. Each level of challenge features three exercises, with level changes occurring every five days. The game also tracks which days the user has trained by placing a tick on the built in calendar.

Look out for Maths Training only on Nintendo DS in February.
