Mass Effect 3 is the best game announced for Wii U, EA CEO John Riccitiello told investors during an overnight conference call.

Despite Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime’s promise of 23 Wii U games during its E3 press conference, the majority were bunged into montages. Mass Effect 3 was one such game, but did receive a warm reception.

“We looked at the Wii U launch line-up yesterday and we’re very pleased there was a lot of applause for ME3, in fact I think it got one of the loudest applauses, so we’re pleased that people see it as the single best piece of software that’s been announced for the platform,” said Riccitiello.

However, we’ve heard nothing specific about Mass Effect 3 on Wii U, which will presumably offer Wii U GamePad functionality.
