EA has dropped a few more cryptic clues as the existence of Mass Effect Mobile, the upcoming tie-in product that’s been hinted at in multiple earning calls from the publisher.

Talking to Kotaku, an EA representative said “there will be ‘handheld/mobile’ products tied to Mass Effect 3, as noted in our past few earnings announcements. They are part of the Galaxy at War system. We will have more details to share soon.”

But what does that actually mean? EA’s being purposefully vague, but at least they’re confirming that there’s something on the cards. Will it be a game, or just some kind of social app to track your progress in Mass Effect 3?

Galaxy at War is the meta-game associated with Mass Effect 3, bridging the single and multiplayer elements of the game to help players earn lots of lovely “Galactic Readiness” points so they can, with any luck, snag the game’s best ending.

Mass Effect 3 will be launched on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC on March 9.
