EA has launched of copy of Mass Effect 3 into space, giving fans the chance to get hold of the game before its official launch on March 9.

The up-for-grabs Space Edition – I see what EA has done there – includes a copy of the game for PS3 or Xbox 360, shirt, hoodie, hat, artbook, water bottle and messenger bag. All this runs to around $500, claims EA.

You’ll have to register to take part over on the Mass Effect 3 website, which then provides you with GPS data on the launched game. Be one of the first two to track down the game to win.

Earlier launched games from Las Vegas and New York have been found, whilst the San Fran game is yet to be discovered. Mass Effect 3’s next launch into space takes place in Berlin on February 29.

We’ve got the office window open and are hoping the game finds its way straight onto Martin’s desk.
