Tired of spending hours and hours scanning for resources in RPG shooter epic Mass Effect 2? Well tire no longer, because developer BioWare has released a patch for the Xbox 360 version of the game that “optimised” the process.
According to one poster on BioWare’s official forum, the patch makes the scanning reticule “huge” and move “at the speed of light”.
Mass Effect 2’s scanning for resources mini-game didn’t sit well with a lot of fans, probably the result of how slowly the scanning reticule moves. Some, however, find it oddly therapeutic. Those people are, what we call in the business, strange.
The patch also contains loads of other fixes, including a fix relating to text and the menu screen, a fix relating to ammo flashing when it can’t be picked up and a fix relating to players starting a new game and loading a save.
You can get the full list over at BioWare’s official forums.
According to BioWare’s community man Chris Priestly , a patch for the PC version “is in the works”.
If all this sounds like gobbledegook to you, then go read our Mass Effect 2 review. Then go out and buy it. It’s ace.
