The next season of Marvel Rivals will bring a lot more than just a new hero and a Battle Pass. The developers have revealed that a major update is coming that will greatly improve the game’s performance, which is great news for all players.

NetEase, the game’s developer, has devoted months of work to improving the game, which is great news, especially for players on consoles, since the game can struggle to run smoothly on some platforms. These improvements will go live with Season 4, and here’s everything the developer has revealed about it.

Marvel Rivals Season 4 to bring major performance improvements

The next season of Marvel Rivals will be available on PlayStation 4. To ensure a smooth experience for PS4 users, the technical team has devoted months of work to major optimizations in game logic, rendering pipeline, and memory management. These improvements will benefit not only older-gen consoles but also PC and current-gen consoles.

One of these improvements could affect the game size, as a PS4 version will only require 40 GB, according to NetEase. On the other hand, PC players have to reserve almost 80 GB for the game. In fact, the download of the early access version is 77.4 GB, as shown below.

Unfortunately, NetEase hasn’t given us more details regarding these improvements. We will be able to feel the difference once Season 4 comes out, which is set for Friday, September 12. At the very least, the game should be more stable on all platforms, and we also expect decent FPS improvements.

The game developer revealed that the base PlayStation 4 will run Marvel Rivals in 1080p resolution with 30 frames per second. The Pro version will be much more effective, rendering the game at 1440p and boosting the framerate to 60.
