Marvel Rivals is gearing up for its highly anticipated Season 2.5 update, which promises a slew of new content to keep fans on edge. NetEases has promised an interesting lineup, including Ultron’s debut as a playable Strategist, who will bring his devious intelligence and high-mobility skills to the battlefield.

Along with Ultron, a new convoy map, Arakko, will challenge teams with unpredictable terrain, while a redesigned Team-Up system will spice up hero synergy by adding six new pairs and deleting four. Fans may also expect new store skins, such as the eye-catching X-Tron Ultron and Yggroot costumes for Tank Hero Groot, as well as rare Twitch drops featuring Emma Frost cosmetics.

Balance changes are planned to improve the competitive scene, with buffs supporting underperforming characters like Doctor Strange and nerfs targeting strong selections. In-game challenges and a new mini-battle pass will provide rewards to keep players engaged. However, if you’re eagerly waiting for the season’s release, we’ve got all the details right here.

Marvel Rivals Season 2.5 full downtime details and release date

Marvel Rivals Season 2.5 is planned to debut on May 30, 2025, at 2 AM PDT (5 AM EDT / 10 AM BST / 11 AM CEST / 3:30 PM IST). Upon completion of the update, players should anticipate a seamless transition back to the overall gameplay experience. According to estimates, the patch might be as large as 33 GB on consoles and around 50 GB on Steam, where it may be necessary to redownload the entire game at that point.

NetEase’s strategy to retain engagement through regular content drops is aligned with this mid-season upgrade, which is in line with that plan. The duration of Season 2.5 is around six weeks, and subsequent seasons will be spaced out over a period of two months.
