Marvel Zombies is a PvE mode coming to Marvel Rivals this week. NetEase revealed this to be the mystery mode, which was previously teased in the Season 4.5 roadmap. The developer released a trailer for it, showcasing several game-changing features that are simply fantastic, including different difficulty levels and character upgrades.

At the moment, all characters in Marvel Rivals have their specific abilities. However, the PvE mode will add new modifiers, allowing heroes to be much more powerful. These upgrades, called Blessings, increase heroes’ stats and give them new abilities.

The PvE Mode in Marvel Rivals Will Bring Character Upgrades

Once the mode comes out, it will feature five different characters. Considering that each character will have its unique upgrades, it’s no surprise that NetEase hasn’t added every single hero to the mode. The trailer gives us a deeper look into Blessings, and besides hero-specific upgrades, there will be general ones.

General Blessings include Vitality Boost (maximum health increase), Power Surge (damage boost), Moonlight Protection (damage reduction), and others. Each Blessing has different levels, so the first level of Vitality Boost grants an additional 30 Maximum Health, while it goes to +100 on the second level and +185 on the third.

One of the most interesting things about the PvE mode in Marvel Rivals is hero-specific Blessings. These will modify existing abilities, so The Punisher will not only deal more damage and have a bigger magazine, but also be able to deploy a turret that automatically locks onto enemies.

Despite losing millions of players since early 2025, Marvel Rivals is still doing great. The upcoming mode will undoubtedly make it even more popular, and we hope that NetEase will make it permanent in the future. Most of the limited-time modes haven’t been popular, but this is bound to change with the release of Marvel Zombies.
