Marvel Rivals Season 3 kicked off on Friday, adding a new hero to the roster. Phoenix is the 21st Duelist in the game, which now has a different meta. All the balance changes resulted in a meta shift, propelling several heroes to the top of the leaderboard. The ban rate has also changed, and one hero has set a new record.

The current season of Marvel Rivals doesn’t seem to favor tanks, and solo tanking is extremely difficult. Due to this, it’s no surprise that many teams decide to ban Wolverine, who’s very efficient at taking down Vanguards.

Wolverine sets the record for the highest ban rave in Marvel Rivals

Wolverine is one of the most unique heroes in the game. His damage is reliant on Rage, which he can build by attacking or taking damage. Logan’s primary attack also deals damage based on the percentage of enemy’s maximum health, making him lethal against tanks.

In Season 3, the Duelist has a 52.72% ban rate. To put it into perspective, the second most-banned hero is Black Panther, whose ban rate is 33.47%. Peni Parker is third with 16.52%, while Emma Frost takes the fourth spot with 14.03%.

Wolverine is no stranger to the high ban rate. Back in Season 1, the tank shredder was banned in 51.38% of competitive games. However, he just hit a new high with the release of the latest season, setting the record for the highest ban rate ever. Interestingly, his overall win rate in competitive is under 50%, although it is higher than 52% in Diamond or higher ranks.

Season 3 has been out for only a few days, so we expect the situation to change before the release of the mid-season update in early August, especially if NetEase releases more balance changes.
