Next year’s Marvel Rivals roster is already locked in

With the release of Season 3.5, Marvel Rivals now has 41 heroes. Blade joined action as the 21st Duelist on August 8, which created the need for other roles, Vanguards and Strategists. Fortunately, we have nothing to worry about, as NetEase has already prepared lots of new heroes in advance.

Guangguang, the game’s creative director, recently spoke to Insider Gaming regarding the hero roster. He revealed some interesting details regarding the addition of new heroes, including its plan for the future.

Marvel Rivals has already prepared many new heroes to add in the future

Starting with Season 3, NetEase decided to release new heroes to Marvel Rivals every month. The previous plan was to do so every month and a half, but considering the diverse lineup of Marvel characters, there are plenty of heroes to add on a monthly basis. In fact, the game creator could add a new hero every day and still have enough characters for the next two decades.

According to Guangguang, Marvel Rivals has a year’s worth of new characters planned. The next hero will drop in early August, but at the moment, we don’t know who it is. Many fans hope that it will be Deadpool, but the creative director refused to confirm whether or not this popular character is on the schedule.

Guangguang also revealed that the development of a new hero takes about a year. This includes all the work from scratch, from concept art to its finishing touches. Due to this, the game developer has to think ahead and plan content for the next 12 months or longer.

Season 4 of Marvel Rivals is scheduled to come out on September 12. Once again, NetEase will add lots of new content, including a new hero. However, the upcoming hero is a mystery for now, although we expect leaks in the final two weeks of the current season.
