GTA 6 is unfortunately delayed for the second time, but, as everyone online cries about its postponement, MARVEL 1943 Rise of Hydra has announced its second postponement, too. Rockstar and Take-Two Interactive have delayed GTA 6 from May 26th, 2026, to November 19th, meanwhile, MARVEL 1943 Rise of Hydra is delayed from early 2026 to a “release window beyond early 2026”.

Grand Theft Auto at least has a new release date, on the other hand it’s a little worrying that there’s still no release date for Rise of Hydra. Not to mention its window of opportunity is getting slimmer as not only will everyone to have compete with Grand Theft Auto in Fall next year now, but there is also likely to be other heavy hitters such as the highly anticipated Marvel’s Wolverine.

On X, Rockstar Games apologised for the delay but assured fans that the “extra months will allow us to finish the game with the level of polish you have come to expect and deserve”. Meanwhile, Skydance Studios’ statement says, “Rise of Hydra is an ambitious project, and we are committed to ensuring it meets the level of quality that our team, players, and fans expect… [which is why] we’ve made the decision to shift our release window”.

MARVEL 1943 Rise of Hydra and GTA 6 Delays Disappoint

The delay of both GTA 6 and MARVEL 1943 Rise of Hydra are massively disappointing as they’re two of the biggest games coming out next year. The next Grand Theft Auto is the bigger disappointment as it’s a juggernaut larger than almost anything that exists, but Rise of Hydra has a lot of hype too as it’s MARVEL and it has the signature of Amy Hennig from Uncharted fame.

Fortunately, there are many fantastic games scheduled to come out next year. In early 2026 alone, there’s Dragon Quest VII Reimagined, Resident Evil Requiem, Crimson Desert, 007 First Light, Mouse Detective P.I. For Hire, and Saros, just to name a few. Confirmed games for next year with no release date also include Marvel’s Wolverine, Halo Campaign Evolved, Paranormal Activity Threshold, and plenty more.

GTA 6 is still estimated to be the biggest entertainment launch in history when it finally comes out, but there still remains the questions about its price, although Take-Two CEO, Strauss Zelnick, has assured the game will deliver “more value” than its cost.

As for Rise of Hydra, its original release window was Christmas 2025 according to voice actor Khary Payton. Similar to GTA 6, this is the game’s second delay, and just like the next Grand Theft Auto we really haven’t seen anything beyond a cinematic story trailer.

We will need to keep an eye out for Rise of Hydra, but hopefully its new release date isn’t too far away. As for GTA 6, hopefully this is the last time as it’s been over a decade since we’ve gotten a new Grand Theft Auto.
