Mark Wahlberg has confirmed that he’s to star in the Uncharted movie, based on the multi-million selling PS3 franchise from Sony Computer Entertainment and Naughty Dog.
Wahlberg confirmed reports that Three Kings and The Fighter director David O. Russell is making the movie, and while he didn’t explicitly state the role of Nathan Drake would be his, this seems likely.
“David is one of the best writer/directors I’ve ever worked with,” said Wahlberg. “The idea that he has is just insane. So hopefully we’ll be making that movie this summer.”
Commenting on the De Niro and Pesci rumours, he added: “I’m obviously in whatever David wants to do but the idea of it is so off the charts: De Niro being my father, Pesci being my uncle. It’s not going to be the watered-down version, that’s for sure.”

Fans have been calling for cult favourite Nathan Fillion to fill the role of Nathan Drake, but it would appear the Firefly and Halo star has missed out in favour of Marky Mark.
Wahlberg sounds pretty enthusiastic about the project, which can only be a good thing, but we can’t say we were blown away by his portrayal of Max Payne.
