Nintendo has announced the development of Mario Sports Mix, a new sports collection set for release on Wii in 2011.

A trailer premiered at Nintendo’s E3 media briefing featured volleyball, ice hockey, dodgeball and basketball. A host of Mario characters were seen, including Bowser and Yoshi.

It wasn’t clear if the full release will offer more sports than those shown in the trailer.
