After a three week delay, Nintendo released Mario Party 8 to retailers in the UK last Friday, but quickly the game got recalled after Nintendo discovered the wrong version of the game had shipped.

[Mario Party 8] was launched in the UK today,” reads a statement posted on the official Nintendo website last week. “Unfortunately we have discovered that a small number of games contain the wrong version of the disk due to an assembly error. We have therefore decided to recall all copies of the game from UK retailers so that this mistake can be corrected.

The ‘wrong version’ which was shipped to retail contained the word ‘spastic’, something which was meant to have been removed.

Nintendo has yet to announce a date for the game’s re-launch.
