Mario’s kart from Mario Kart 7 will be released in 6V battery form this autumn/winter, reports Toy News.

The Super Mario Kart Ride-On toy from Jakks Pacific is modelled on the kart featured in the 3DS racing game and has been created in partnership with Nintendo.

Power-up and weapons aren’t included, but drivers will have access to a full range of game sound effects.

“For the first time ever, you can be in the driver seat of your very own Nintendo Kart,” commented Jakks Pacific’s Ken Goodison.

“It’s an exciting little runner that we expect to sit competitively within other 6V ride-ons and with it being so relevant to the Nintendo Mario Kart, it should do very well.”

The kart also has switchable on-road and off-road tyres.

Mario Kart 7 is out now for 3DS, with Mario Kart 8 coming to Wii U on May 30.
