Mario Kart 8 is to receive two DLC packs introducing a total of 6 new characters, 8 vehicles and 16 courses, Nintendo has announced.

The Legend of Zelda X Mario Kart 8 Pack, which is due to release this November, offers 4 new vehicles (including an F-Zero themed Blue Falcon Kart), 8 courses and three brand new characters, including Tanooki Mario, Cat Peach and Link.

The DLC will be followed up by the Animal Crossing X Mario Kart 8 Pack next May, again featuring 8 new courses, 4 additional vehicles, and new racers Villager, Isabelle and Dry Bowser.

The new tracks include a range of brand new courses based on the worlds of The Legend of Zelda and Animal Crossing, and classic tracks like Wario’s Gold Mine from Mario Kart Wii. Two Cups will also be featured in both packs, introducing 4 new Cups in total.

The packs will cost £7 each or are available to pre-order together in a bundle for £11 starting today. Players who pre-order both packs will also receive instant access to eight new colours of Yoshi and Shy Guy.

And if you want something else to keep you going until November, Mario Kart 8’s latest update is available to download today introducing brand new Mercedes-Benz vehicles and a new screen-based course map.
