Mario Kart 3DS has been shown using hang gliders as the attachment to customisable cars. But it seems Nintendo has a few more tricks up its sleeve, VideoGamer.com can reveal.
Speaking to VideoGamer.com after the conference, a Nintendo representative confirmed that the finished game will feature plenty of additional attachments for making the most of your time in the air.
A propeller attachment is currently being worked on alongside the hang glider, which allegedly gives drivers extra mobility when in the air. While the list hasn’t been finalised, the Nintendo representative confirmed that the addition of underwater-focused attachments – to give you an advantage under the sea as opposed to when gliding through the air, two new areas of focus for the upcoming 3DS title, could potentially be an option in the finished version of the game.
Mario Kart 3DS features three customisable options per kart – body, wheels, and attachment. Changing out your body affects your weight and manoeuvrability, your wheels affect handling, and then there’s the attachment – with only the hang glider being shown at present.
Mario Kart is not the only classic Nintendo franchise coming to 3DS, with Nintendo also detailing Super Mario, Kid Icarus: Uprising, and Luigi’s Mansion 2.
Mario Kart 3DS is scheduled to launch this holiday season for 3DS.
