Mario Kart 3DS will hit stores this year according to Nintendo design chief Shigeru Miyamoto.
The Nintendo legend revealed to French site Gamekyo that the highly anticipated racer is coming in 2011 and that we should expect more news on the title at E3 in June.
Little is currently known about the next game in the kart racing series, with Nintendo limiting its showings to tech demos.

At this stage in the 3DS’ life Mario Kart 3DS is badly needed, given the current lack of triple-A titles on the system.
With Miyamoto also stating that he hopes to release Mario 3DS in 2011, the end of this year is shaping up to be very exciting for 3DS owners and gamers currently on the fence – and it may have to be, given the impending release of Sony’s NGP.
