Sega has run a poll asking fans to vote on their favourite Yakuza character, and Goro Majima, 'The Mad Dog of Shimano,' is number 1.
As part of the registration process for Yakuza Online, fans were asked to vote in order for the winner of the poll to be added into the game.
The game is a free-to-play game and the first in the series to be set after Yakuza 6: The Song of Life. It looks to suffuse the series' combat with a frenetic finger-swiping style.
There were over 100 characters to vote on in the poll. The current top-20 is as follows:

Players are allowed up to five votes every 24 hours. You can use all five on one character, if you're obsessed with, say, Osamu Kashiwagi (and fair play to you if you are), or you can spread them out.
Pre-registrations are live for Yakuza Online in Japan, and the game is currently in development for PC, iOS, and Android.
